Eating right should always be essential if you want to lead a healthy lifestyle. So start your 2010 right by choosing to eat foods that your body needs, not the junk it craves.
You need to add your veggies to that gym time, including more green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, asparagus, peas and cabbage, as they are full of alkaline and fiber. Protein should come from quality sources such as organic chicken, lamb and fish preferably, since it's much healthier than from processed meats.
You should also try to incorporate a protein shake to ensure you're getting enough protein to ensure you getting enough throughout a day. Besides a whey or other protein shake makes a great mid afternoon or morning snack.
Drinking plenty of water is essential. Eat every three to four hours to avoid the body going into starvation mode and storing fat. Ideally you should have about 6 meals a day, including snacks.
