In this class we will look at stress not as the cause of our problems but as a symptom. We’ll explore how nutritional deficiencies, weakened immune systems, toxicity, negative attitudes and relational problems can contribute to stress. And, above all, we’ll focus on how to prevent and reduce stress and restore optimal health. We’ll examine the findings of psychoneuroimmunology—the science of how one’s attitude can create stress by shifting the body’s chemistry—and discuss how to detoxify our thoughts, emotions, environment and bodies. We’ll learn nutritional approaches to increasing our energy level; calming yogic, qigong and breathing practices; body scanning; mindfulness techniques; and autogenics, a system of meditation that leads to deep muscle relaxation. Come discover simple, practical techniques to reduce stress throughout the day and throughout your life.
