After suffering from a torn hamstring, Dr. Alicia Armitstead discovered both chiropractic and nutrition to be effective forms of treatment and decided to dedicate her life to the study of these medicinal arts to help others reach their optimal health.
Dr. Armitstead strives to provide a high level of professionalism along with quality, patient-focused care. She designs specific treatment plans unique to the individual needs of each patient that emphasizes active patient participation and education. She also helps her patients recover more quickly and return to their activities sooner, heal more completely, and decrease their chances of relapse.
Dr. Armitstead earned her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from the University of Bridgeport Chiropractic College (UBCC). While enrolled at UBCC, she attended over 250 hours of seminars on topics including applied kinesiology, sports injuries, rehabilitation, neurology, and nutrition. She became certified in Applied Kinesiology in May 2006. Dr. Armitstead has continued her education by working on her Masters in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and a postdoctoral program in neurology through the University of Connecticut Medical School.
