The knee is a vulnerable joint in Yoga practice, and an important one to your overall practice of a wide variety of asanas. The correct practice of Yoga can actually help improve the condition of your knees, but incorrect practice can compromise it. Learn to protect your knees with proper alignment, especially during movement, and learn how to build strength to stabilize the joint. With that stable base, you can work on poses that introduce torque, open the hips to reduce knee torque, recognize when pain signals a problem, and use Yoga as therapy following an injury.
