Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is a unique synthesis of transformative mind and body skills that enable us to realign our relationship to stress through mindfulness. The breathing and walking meditations, and various other exercises, help us fine-tune awareness through direct experience in the present moment. Numerous studies have shown that this program has positively impacted people's health, and strengthened their ability to cope with illness or stressful situations.
Paulette Graf trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Center For Mindfulness founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, as well as his professional training at Omega Institute. With a BA in Psychology and a background in fine arts, she studied contemplative curriculum at Naropa University. She practiced Zen, Vipassana, and Shambhala Buddhist traditions, and is a Shambhala meditation instructor. She teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Aurora Healing Arts Center in Park Slope Brooklyn and in Manhattan.
