When people ate 1/5 ounce (a heaping table-spoon) of dried wakame daily for a month, their systolic blood pressure dropped by 10 points. The seaweed may bind to the sodium in your stomach and intestines, decreasing its absorption into your bloodstream says study author Jane Teas, Ph.D.
