1. Cut it. Before taking a bite, cut your sandwich in half. Now you've got tomorrow's lunch.
2. Get it on the side. Often spreads account for most of the fat and calories in sandwiches. order them on the side and apply them sparingly.
3. Watch the sodium. Restaurant sandwiches are generally high in sodium, so balance out the rest of your day with low-salt foods, such as fruits, veggies and grains.
4. Fill up first. Before you plunge into your sandwich, start with a bowl of vegetable soup or a salad with low-fat dressing.
